- Highlights from 2017 Lancet series about the "misuse and over-use of medical services feeding into care inequity and something needed to be considered not just as health care providers but also as a Society with a strong advocacy agenda".
- The ‘Choosing Wisely’ campaign was launched by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2012 to avoid wasteful or unnecessary medical tests, treatments and procedures. It is now active in approximately 25 countries. The principles of Choosing Wisely are that decisions and guidelines should be led by clinical care experts, patient-focussed, evidence-based, multi-professional and transparent.
