IDIMI Metabolic Endocrinology Course 2024

Santiago de Chile, Chile - July 26-27, 2024

With the increase in sedentary lifestyle and obesity, health care professionals who work with young people are seeing more metabolic problems with endocrinological consequences every day. This version aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the entire team of healthcare professionals working in the field of pediatric endocrinology and metabolism (children, adolescents and adult doctors, nutritionists, nurses, psychologists, pharmaceuticals and others). For this, we will count with the presence of first level guests, both international and national, where important topics will be addressed, such as the interaction between obesity and endocrinology, advances in the treatment of young people with type 1 and 2 diabetes, metabolic programming, behavioral tools for the approach of patients with metabolic and endocrinological conditions, among others. Course with certification: 19 teaching hours. The course will be help in Spanish.

A new registration category with a preferential fee of only USD $25.00 is available exclusively for foreigners not residing in Chile, to attend the course virtually!

MENTOR Program (Egyptian Course for Training Diabetes Educator and Nurses)

The 3 pillars of their new program are to raise the standard of diabetes care for children via training and certifications for 1) healthcare providers 2) diabetes educators, nurses, etc., and 3) parents and patient advocates.

3rd Sub - Saharan Endocrine and Diabetes Africa Summer School

Gaborone, Botswana, March 9-10, 2020

The third African Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ASPAE) Summer School was held in Gaborone, Botswana, March 9-10, 2020. The participants were 15 Pediatric Endocrinologist graduates from PETCA and PETCWA tutorial courses conducted by ISPAD and ESPE in Africa.

1st ASPAE Summer School

March 11th -13th 2018

Nairobi, Kenya

The first ever African diabetes and endocrinology summer school was held on 11-13th March 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya just ahead of the 9th Annual scientific conference of ASPAE.

Twenty-eight participants from 11 countries attended this landmark event which was characterised by a rich collection of clinical cases and the latest updates on diabetes and endocrinology care.

The clinical cases were of particular interest because they provided a window into the experiences and challenges faced by the budding paediatric endocrinologists on the continent.

ASPAE wishes to thank both ESPE and ISPAD for their invaluable financial and technical support during the summer school 2018.

3rd Meeting on Technology and Innovation in Diabetes

On May 10-11, 2018, ISPAD was represented by Julie Pelicand during the 3rd Meeting on Technology and Innovation in Diabetes in Antofagasta, Chile. This event organised by the University of Antofagasta was the opportunity for local health professionals to discover more about ISPAD and ISPAD membership.

The Child Life Council (CLC) is pleased to announce the availability of several international scholarships to attend the CLC Annual Conference on Professional Issues, which will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana from May 22-25, 2014.
