Membership Committee
The International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) Membership Committee is dedicated to evaluating and evolving the society’s membership structure. This includes assessing the total number of members and their distribution across different professional categories. The committee is also responsible for presenting new proposals to foster positive membership development and conducting continuous evaluations.

Duties and Activities
- Membership Evaluation: Assess and evolve the current membership structure, including the total number of members and their distribution among various professional groups.
- Proposal Development: Develop and present new proposals aimed at increasing membership and enhancing the diversity of the ISPAD community.
- Continuous Evaluation: Conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure the membership structure meets the society’s goals and needs.
- Diverse Membership: Focus on expanding the membership to include more psychologists, nurses, diabetes educators, dieticians, other healthcare professionals, and patient advocates.
- Global Outreach: Implement strategies to increase membership rates from countries classified as “Low or Lower-Middle Income.”
- Regular Meetings: Participate in quarterly planned telephone conferences or video meetings.
- Annual Meeting Preparation: Stay informed about the current membership structure and propositions before annual meetings during ADA or ISPAD conferences.
- Proposal Presentation: Present proposals to the Advisory Council and, upon acceptance, discuss them with KIT before bringing a final proposition to the ISPAD Steering Committee for a decision.
- Ongoing Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the membership rate and structure to ensure alignment with ISPAD’s goals.
